Abstract:

Ammunition needed: 500 Rounds (Save money with our ammo packages!)
Prerequisites: Basic Handgun Course – Take our 1 day NRA Basic Handgun if you have no experience!
Description:
Upon completion of this course you will an understanding of the defensive use of the handgun in critical situations as well as strategies, tactics and shooting skills to deal with them successfully.
Where we differ from other academies is our emphasis on mentally conditioning the operator to process the situation correctly, make a good judgment call when needed and then respond appropriately with the correct application of force to meet the needs of the situation.
You will also learn strong fundamental shooting skills that are directly related to defensive shooting. By the end of the two days, you will learn how to fire quickly and safely into a threat target at the most likely distances you will encounter.
Using a combination of steel and paper targets, you will learn how to engage targets successfully out to 15 yards and make fight stopping hits under time pressure. You will also learn speed and tactical reloads, how to clear malfunctions quickly, use cover while shooting and manage your environment with skill and confidence.
Use of force simulations using Airsoft and other platforms when appropriate put the student in the gunfight, learning to deal with stress loads and begin the process of acclimation/inoculation to stress. Being there beforehand and knowing what to do and how to do it is critical to your success should these situations happen to you!
You will Need:
Handgun suitable for extended use each day, at least 2 spare magazines, eye and ear protection, suitable holster or holsters for extended concealed carry and range use, sturdy belt that holds the holster firmly, clothing to suit the weather, tactical flashlight (surefire) if you have one.
