Our On-Site Academy is hosted at The NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM. (www.nrawc.org) This awesome 33,000 acre facility hosts world class shooting events and gives the student a chance to shoot on a wide variety of ranges while they are on-site.
Directions to the NRA Whittington Center:
In general, it is easier to fly into either Denver, CO or Colorado Springs, CO and drive south on I-25 to Raton, NM. Travel time is 2.5 hrs south of Colorado Springs or 3.5 hrs. from Denver, CO. It is an easy trip and once you are on site, you don’t need to travel back and forth through any traffic.
Housing:
We enjoy staying on the facility and we encourage you to do the same: The abundance of wildlife, clean air, quiet vistas and scenery make for a real valued added experience. We recommend the housekeeping cabins as a first choice if you choose to stay on-site. There are also dormitory style rooms available on site, camping areas for RV’s, bunkhouse style cabins and tent camping available.
Housekeeping Cabins
The housekeeping cabins are our first choice to stay. Each cabin Cabins has 4 bedrooms, each bedroom can accommodate two people. There are private bathrooms in each room. Each cabin has a common kitchen area with a stove, microwave and common refrigerator.
Pots and pans are available in each cabin but can be problematic at times as to what is available. Generally we have been able to accommodate cooking requirements. We also like to get together in the evening and have a common dinner time and a chance to interact with as a group.
You will need to bring a towel and toiletries.
Wireless Internet Access
Note: If you need wireless internet, the Shotgun Building has wireless internet available for free. It is open til 5 pm each day. If you need more internet access, you may wish to stay in a hotel room in Raton, NM.

Montrose, CO
We have a variety of satellite locations that we do training at: These are located in the Denver, CO area and Montrose, CO.
Montrose, CO – Southwest Colorado is one of the most scenic areas of CO and well worth coming. There are things to do for the family if you choose to bring them for your training and make it a marvelous vacation opportunity!
How to get to Montrose, CO.
Flying or Driving:
Montrose is located in SW Colorado. We have an airport in Montrose and the range we use is located 10 minutes from Montrose, CO. You can either fly into Montrose, CO directly or fly into Grand Junction, CO which is located an hour away. You can also fly into Denver, CO and rent a car. Travel time from Denver is 4.5 hrs.
There are many wonderful places to visit while you are in Montrose. We have the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Ouray, CO boasts marvelous mountain scenery as well as hot springs, fine dining and cool summer nights. Telluride is also a popular destination.The train from Silverton, CO to Durango, CO and back is also a very popular trip to take.
